Making more time for what matters

How do I make more time for myself as a busy mum?

The honest answer is that there usually isn't a spare hour hiding somewhere waiting to be found - most days as a parent are genuinely full. So "more time for yourself" tends to work better as a question of protecting small pockets rather than finding large new ones.

Ten or fifteen minutes, used deliberately, can do more for how you feel than an hour you're waiting for and never actually gets. A short walk without the pram, five minutes with a cup of tea that's still hot when you finish it, or a small personal goal you chip away at in odd moments all count - the size of the time matters far less than whether you actually protect it and use it on purpose.

It also helps to separate "time for myself" from "time to get things done" - admin, chores and errands fill any space you give them, and that's not the same as time that's actually for you. Naming what you want that small window to be for - rest, movement, a hobby, just quiet - makes it much more likely you'll actually take it.

How 365ALIVE helps

365ALIVE's daily suggestion is deliberately small enough to fit into the pockets of time a busy parent actually has, and Take a Moment offers a genuinely quick reset - a few minutes of breathing or a short mindful pause - for the days when even that feels like a stretch.
