Workplace wellbeing

How do we choose an employee wellbeing app for our team?

The best wellbeing app for a workplace is the one people open. Many apps are used for a fortnight and then forgotten, so start by imagining it on an ordinary Tuesday: is it quick, warm and optional, or does it become one more thing to keep up with? Apps built around streaks, scores and leaderboards can leave tired people feeling they are failing at wellbeing, which defeats the purpose.

Then ask the practical buying questions. What data does it collect about each person? What, if anything, does the employer see: individual activity, or only anonymous group totals? Where is the data held and for how long? Can people use it without a work email address, and can they leave without penalty? How is it priced for a small team, and what happens to the data if you stop paying?

Finally, ask what evidence there is that it helps, and be sceptical of big claims. A good provider can tell you plainly what it does and does not do. Run a short pilot with a small group, ask for honest feedback, and only roll it out more widely if people say they would keep using it without being nudged.

How 365ALIVE helps

365ALIVE is designed to be the gentle kind: one small daily suggestion, a life list, short mindful moments and a personal museum of what you have done, with no streaks. A workplace version is being designed so that employers see only anonymous group-level totals, never individual activity. Email hello@365alive.uk if you would like to join a pilot.
